Cordula Treml portrays actors in different theatres in Berlin, Hamburg, Munich and Vienna and has over the years accompanied Katharina Thalbach, Angela Winkler, Bibiana Beglau, Eva Mattes, Annette Paulmann, Stefanie Reinsperger, Nicholas Ofczarek, Sebastian Blomberg, Bruno Cathomas et Michael Maertens preparing for their roles, often only a few minutes before entering the stage. The photographer captures in her portraits the physical transformation and also shows how the actors prepare intellectually for their roles. She tries to reveal those silent moments where tension, strong concentration and contemplation become perceptible, and capture the emotions pervading body and face…

Cordula Treml photographie des comédiens dans plusieurs grands théâtres à Berlin, Hambourg, Munich et Vienne et a entre autres accompagné Katharina Thalbach, Angela Winkler, Bibiana Beglau, Eva Mattes, Annette Paulmann, Stefanie Reinsperger, Nicholas Ofczarek, Sebastian Blomberg, Bruno Cathomas et Michael Maertens, en train de se préparer, souvent seulement quelques minutes avant l’entrée en scène. La photographe capte dans ses portraits la transformation physique et montre également la préparation mentale du comédien à son rôle. Elle cherche à cerner ces moments silencieux où la tension, la grande concentration, l’incarnation du personnage deviennent palpable, et à faire ressentir les émotions qui traversent corps et visages…
